VPL Habitability Index for Transiting Exoplanets

This Virtual Planetary Laboratory tool calculates the "Habitability Index for Transiting Exoplanets" (HITE) of a planet given the parameters below. The potentially habitable ("phabitable") planet is first, followed by the inner and the outer, if applicable. If the planet has no known companions, leave the other planet fields blank. If you use this interface, please cite Barnes, Meadows & Evans (2015) ApJ, accepted.

Input parameters:

Number of Planets:   (choose 1, 2, or 3)

Star :
StellarLog(g)  : units of g are cm/sec2   (log is to base 10)
StellarRadius : R_sun
StellarTemp   : K

Phabitable Planet:
TransitDepth1: ppm
Period1           : days
Duration1       : hours
ImpactParam1: (no units)

Inner Planet :
TransitDepth2: ppm
Period2           : days
Duration2       : hours
ImpactParam2: (no units)

Outer Planet :
TransitDepth3: ppm
Period3           : days
Duration3       : hours
ImpactParam3: (no units)
